This month, we look beyond initial development milestones to explore the realities of long-haul solar asset ownership and our continued commitment to environmental stewardship.

The industry focus has shifted from simply adding megawatts to reliable, long-term system performance. This month, we look beyond initial development milestones to explore the realities of long-haul solar asset ownership and our continued commitment to environmental stewardship. As detailed in our newly released 2025 Sustainability Report, we prioritize projects that deliver durable financial, operational and community value for decades to come.

LET'S DELIVER DECADES OF RELIABILITY!

Building a Sustainable Future: 2025 Sustainability Report

Standard Solar has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing our progress in clean energy deployment and environmental impact management. This year’s report highlights our continued portfolio growth, our expanded community solar footprint and the successful execution of our decarbonization strategy. Read the full report to explore the key milestones and community benefits that drive our mission forward.

Turning Contracted Revenue Into Long-Term Value

Evaluating a project's worth requires looking far beyond its initial capital costs. In our latest blog, Jay Smith explores how developers and asset owners can turn contracted revenue into sustained value over a project's life. He highlights why asset performance and contract quality must be viewed as one connected responsibility.

What Does It Take to Build Solar That Lasts 30+ Years?

Managing solar assets inside a 35-year ownership model requires a fundamental shift in how projects are built. In Episode 366 of the Clean Power Hour, Standard Solar’s C.J. Colavito and Jay Smith explain the realities of owning distributed generation projects for decades. They discuss breaking down organizational silos, evaluating tracker reliability and redesigning system specifications around eventual inverter failure.

Hillsboro Solar Project: Powering Illinois

The Hillsboro Solar Project in Montgomery County, Illinois, transforms a 33-acre former zinc smelter site into a 6.9-megawatt (MWdc) source of clean energy. The site utilizes over 11,500 solar modules on a single-axis tracker system. It will generate approximately 11,550 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity annually, which is enough to power 1,250 U.S. homes. As a community solar garden, Hillsboro expands access to renewable energy for local residents and displaces up to 9,985 metric tons of carbon emissions each year.

September Poll: As distributed generation portfolios mature, what do you view as the biggest challenge to maintaining asset value past year 15?

Managing inverter replacements and component obsolescence
Navigating expiring warranties and fluctuating O&M costs
Adapting sites for AC or DC-coupled battery storage retrofits
Renegotiating offtake agreements and revenue contracts
