As we enter the final stretch of summer, the clean energy industry continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience. Despite shifting trade policies and supply chain complexities, energy leaders continue prioritizing durable, bankable solar and storage projects built to withstand market volatility. At Standard Solar, we are focused on navigating these market dynamics—prioritizing long-term bankability and innovative revenue stacking to deliver project certainty for our partners and communities.

Solar Panel Makers and Buyers Discuss Sec. 232 Tariffs

The U.S. solar industry is actively assessing the impact of recent Sec. 232 tariffs on imported silicon wafers, cells and finished panels. With a general 15% tariff and minimum import prices now in effect, procurement strategies are shifting. In a recent Solar Power World article, Seth Adams, our Senior VP of EPC, noted that procurement is becoming less about initial speed and cost, and more about long-term bankability and overall project economics.

Understanding the New Clean Energy Revenue Stack

As battery energy storage systems (BESS) become a primary driver of project revenue, evaluating projects solely on upfront capital costs is no longer viable. In our latest blog, experts from DNV and Intertek CEA discuss the technical risks long-term owners must monitor, from state-of-charge accuracy to augmentation planning and warranty structures.

U.S. Clean Energy Boom Set to Continue Through 2030

Despite shifting political landscapes, the U.S. deployed a record 50 gigawatts of new wind, solar and battery capacity in 2025. A new report from the Rhodium Group highlights that this momentum is on track to continue, with the nation projected to reduce carbon emissions by 26% to 29% below 2005 levels by 2030.

Proof Points: Renewables Supply 30% of Total U.S. Electricity

Clean energy generated nearly a third of all U.S. electricity through May 2026, boosted by a 21% year-over-year surge in utility-scale solar. With renewables on track to add 83 gigawatts (GW) of new capacity by spring 2027 while fossil fuel and nuclear capacity shrink by 4.7 GW, solar is rapidly closing in on natural gas as a dominant grid resource.

August Poll: With rapid AI and data center expansion driving unprecedented power demand, which strategy is most critical for solar to capture this growth?

Co-locating solar + storage directly with data centers (behind-the-meter/microgrids)
Structuring round-the-clock (24/7) carbon-free energy PPAs
Accelerating utility-scale hybrid (solar + storage) project queues
Partnering directly with tech hyperscalers on multi-gigawatt pipeline frameworks
Adapting project designs to meet high-load, continuous power requirements

Family, Fun & Team Spirit

In August, the Standard Solar team came together for our annual Family Fun Day — a chance to step away from the day-to-day, enjoy some time together and celebrate the people who make this company what it is. Bringing our families into the mix made the day even more special and was a great reminder that behind every project, milestone and success is a team of people who care about the work and each other. We’re proud of the culture we’ve built and the people who continue to make Standard Solar a great place to work. Interested in being part of the team? Join us and help build what’s next at Standard Solar.
